Detroit Design
Growing up in Detroit was significant in my becoming an art director and designer. My mother was a painter, graphic designer, screen printer, and the city has been a seminal one for architects and furniture designers, largely because of the hive of design activity at Cranbrook Academy of Art. The school continues as a leader in design studies and I have fond memories of visiting Cranbook as a 7 year old — returning home I promptly created my own catalog of furniture designs (in post-modern style), which appear in the Sketches, Studies, and Photography area of this site.

There is joy in a wild journey
After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University with a BFA in painting and graphic & stage design, I headed to DC and NYC, and later Seattle, for professional work in design and the visual and performing arts. This rewarding, colorful, at times wild journey has afforded me opportunities in design, textiles, art, music, theatre, dance, as well as technology and business. I returned to live in Washington DC in 2017.

My focus is passion and connection
Creative work life for me has encompassed marketing strategy and brand identity, digital, print, advertising, signage and dimensional design, video, and events. I am experienced in creating and managing written/visual content with clients and partners from concept through delivery, focusing on strategic and creative problem solving. My strengths are idea generation, versatility, and a drive to discover what design can solve in work and in life.

I value the passion in others and enjoy connecting people with great ideas and possibilities.
